Labour to deliver 'Street Champion' for Riversway

Riversway byelection 1Preston Labour Party has kicked off the Riversway by-election campaign with a promise to deliver a candidate that will be a 'Street Champion' for the local area.

Labour members were out in force delivering leaflets and a survey about local issues to residents in the ward.  Spirits were high as local residents approached Labour activists to ask about the by-election - word obviously having spread about the Liberal Democrat's appalling betrayal of trust.Bhikhu Patel 2010

Local Labour Councillor Bhikhu Patel said 'We are determined to win this one for Riversway.  The Liberal Democrats have shown that they can't be trusted in power and have treated local people with contempt.  We going to work hard to deliver a candidate that will be a worthy Street Champion for the people of Riversway.'

You can follow the latest on the campaign on our blog page - written by former Labour councillor for Riversway Jack Davenport - delivering a perhaps more informal description of campaign events as they unfold.
