Local
Campaigner Martyn Rawlinson presents the first part of Preston
Labour’s Manifesto, detailing how we intend to deliver stronger
safer communities for Preston.
Under the current Tory/Lib Dem coalition, Preston Council
has suffered from biting cuts hitting communities and hard working
families. Stronger, safer communities require leadership, but the
Tory/Lib Dem coalition has squandered every opportunity to help
improve local communities, passing the buck every time.
Preston Labour Party is a presenting
an agenda that can bring real change for the people of
Preston.
We pledge
- A Labour led Council would reverse
the decision by the Tories and Lib Dems and restore safety checks
on play areas.
- A Labour led council will formalise
the community work between Police and Council, including PACT
meetings within Council diaries, so that these resident meetings
will be as fundamental to council duties as any
committee
- Preston Labour Party will direct
Preston Council to work with Police on initiatives to tackle
serious crime
- Preston Labour Party will develop a
study of community cohesion that will mainly be driven by public
consultation and involvement.
- Preston Labour Party will ban
Mosquito devices from all Council property.
