Cleaner, Greener Preston

Phil Crowe Phil Crowe, a local activist in Ashton, presents Labour’s plans for tackling environmental issues in the city. These policies will direct Preston Council to meeting the challenges of environmental action and global warming.

Labour will improve the quality of recycling and refuse collection services with a complete review of all operations.

We pledge

  • To introduce bigger and better litter bins around the city
  • To enforce better standards of waste collection when your bins are collected
  • Improved and better timed street cleaning, both in residential areas and the city centre
  • To push for all council activities to be low-carbon, and promote this amongst businesses and households
  • To create a Council mark that businesses can apply for, to show that are using biodegradable packaging
